Music Thing is a blog about listening more carefully. It looks at well-known music and musicians and asks what tends to get overlooked: quiet ideas, personal contexts, strange influences, and meanings that don’t usually make it into the headline version of the story.
Some posts zoom out, thinking about music culturally or historically. Others zoom in, focusing on details, moments, or interpretations that feel small but matter. Old music, new music—it’s all fair game, as long as there’s something worth listening for.
